Okay, that's cool. Thank you!

Any chance of a box shot?

I really wish they used the Ohrai poster art for the box like they did for the others. I can't imagine why they didn't.

New figure looks great though! I hope NECA continues producing Godzilla merch for years to come.

Probably because the actual suit is on the poster, and when I think of TRoG I usually think of that poster and not the Ohrai one. Also, the Ohrai one has always looked like an alt. poster for Godzilla Vs Destroyah

They probably didn't use the Ohrai poster because of brand confusion. You don't want a casual collector thinking it's some type of Burning Godzilla.

Are we talking about this one?

Because yeah I honestly keep forgetting this is for 1984. The design looks really more 90s Godzilla. I remember seeing that picture on the Godzilla 2 NES cartridge as a little kid and being like 'whoooooooa he looks scary!'
Return of Godzilla/85's poster might be one of my favorites so no complaints from me.

Casual collector... Not knowing of poster versions?

Casual collector as in, someone who doesn’t know a lot about Godzilla or someone who collects NECA products not just specific lines.

What always ticks me off about TROG figures and using the poster in the marketing of those figures is the fact that the poster is clearly the Cybot, and the figures are never sculpted to be representations of it...

Controversial opinion incoming:

That poster is not only used more in stuff for 1984 but is more well known for that film then the Ohrai.

So not surprised NECA chose it

I actually find the head on this to look a bit like the hybrid of Cybot and suit, not 100% of either.

I did this shot with the original figure and it looks close to the poster though thankfully the teeth are suit based. Not a fan of how thin the Cybot teeth are.

They have a schedule to keep, unfortunately, so long as they're able to keep on track, they have to push out current stuff at the factories to make room for what's next.

If we want to get our '89 and 2003 figures, we have to let '85 ship as soon as it's ready.

The one I bought off eBay arrived. It's still one of their worst figures, but the new touches and my nostalgia for the film make me fond of it.

I see that neca has taken off the clamshell promo images for the godzilla 1985 figure. I can't wait to get mines tomorrow in the mail. I'm probably gonna put my original one in the packaging while I have the new one displayed with the rest of my neca godzillas.

I can't wait for the 89 and 03 gojis to release. I'm gonna have to make separate shelves for my neca godzillas, since they're packed like sardines. I'll probably make a showa, heisei, millennium and current shelf.

NECA has upped their game on these recent releases. Heck, even the re-released Shin is great- paint job is so much better.

Definitely. The only thing that I hope for from them is some buildings, like the ones they display at conventions with their godzilla figures. I'm really excited to get the 2003 goji for sure.
