Worst Godzilla Game

So what, factually speaking, is the worst Godzilla game ever?

I think we all know the answer, but let's see.

GU for Nintendo DS, or PS2.

Haven't played any of the post DAMM ones, so I can't judge them.

The worst one I've actually played is Godzilla 2 for NES,or Godzilla on Game Boy

Probably SNES Super Godzilla. Not a horrible game, but suffers from having no password which would allow you to jump ahead to the later levels and boss fights.

I don't know why people hate the DS godzilla game. I like it. It has a unique style, cool characters, and pretty entertaining boss battles if you ask me.

I ALWAYS play through it when on a road trip.

I like that they got Ebirah, Manda and Hedorah for it. That was a nice touch.

From what I've played then the worst game would be Godzilla on the Gameboy but I have somewhat of a soft spot for that game since it was my first Godzilla game. GU and the GTS games on the Gameboy Color are not very good neither, but they are not awful games.

I would have liked it a lot more if the melee combat was better. If a jet flew into you, you would get hurt! Wait? What? Guns I can see, but the jet flying into you? You can barely destroy them with melee weapons either. You just beam spam your way through the level. And then there's the boss battles, where if they even TOUCH you, you get hurt. That means, you guessed it, beam spam your way past the boss level. In fact, the only time you don't have to beam spam is when you destroy buildings.

That stupid puzzle game for Gameboy known only as Godzilla. Here I boot this babay up getting ready to fight and...I end up pushing boxes in a puzzle. As a puzzle game it's fun but as a Godzilla game it fails because I was expecting a fighting or at least an adventure game where the monsters are bosses.

Fun fact - that game was made by Alex Neuse, who right after founded Gaijin Games, and made the Bit.Trip series.

I had one meeting with him, at the beginning of his work on G:U for DS, and we hit it off great. I was pretty shocked that the end product was such a turd.

G:U was fun to play but the controls are annoying and bugged. GU for the DS was 10x worse though.

Godzilla on The Gameboy. While all the other Godzilla games have their charm & entertainment value (even Godzilla Unleashed on the DS) but Godzilla (Game Boy) was just bad. I was expecting a fighting game but not a puzzle game with Godzilla in it and hell he doesn't unleash his atomic breath but a glove pops out of his mouth and pushes boxes & stuff

I didn't mind GU for the PS2 so much. I def liked the controls better. The DS game...eh. You know something is wrong when the company that made the game doesn't want to be associated with it.

To be fair, I didn't 'hate' the PS2 version, being the big STE-head that I am, but it definitely had it's share of problems. The frame rate was pretty spotty when playing Melee, especially if you played anywhere but Monster Island, and the lack any real "new" monsters really hurt the game overall, IMO.

I'll disagree with this point. G54 and G90 were the only two monsters out of 26 that had significant overlap in their animations.

G:U PS2 was most definitely not "glitch free". SpaceGodzilla's throw, for one, is glitched to hell. My friend was able to grab me through mountains, and other structures, on multiple occasions, in multiple matches.

The controls for the Wii version weren't perfect, but they're definitely weren't "shit". There also were not "tons of clones" at all.
