I'm still not sure if this is exactly where I want it though. Like I said in my first post, I really like the idea of having Mothra Leo and Larva Mothra in there somewhere, but I don't want the roster to be too Mothra-heavy. Mothra is Toho's second-biggest monster, so a couple extra versions makes sense, but to include Larva and Imago Mothra, Battra and even just one version of Mothra Leo would be way unbalanced. For now I'm killing two giant moths with one stone by having Larva Battra fill the Larva and Battra quota... Larva Battra is like a thousand times cooler than Imago Battra anyway.

Replacing Oodako with Gezora probably doesn't seem like that big of a change, but I really wanted a Space Amoeba monster in there somewhere, and who better than Gezora? Ganimes is too similar to Ebirah, and Kamoebas... well I guess Kamoebas might be a better pick than Gezora. THOUGH you could argue that Kamoebas is kind of similar to Anguirus. For now, Gezora stays. Because he is awesome.

Sad to have to cut Frankenstein and Oodako, but either their movies are represented by other monsters or they're just too similar to other monsters. As a side note, this list also assumes that Mechanikong would be off-limits for legal/financial reasons. If he was a possibility, I'd probably add him in.

In this version, I would ideally have each monster's design individually considered so that it might not clearly represent a certain specific suit or film appearance. For instance, Ghidorah might be a fusion of the 1965 and Grand King Ghidorah designs. Godzilla might be a combination of Heisei Godzilla and Final Goji etc. Some monsters (like Varan or Gezora) which haven't had a film appearance in a very long time might have their designs tweaked to bring them into the 21st century.

To be fair, we probably won't get 30 either. It's really just kind of a fun thing to talk about. If we ever get another big licensed console Godzilla game, it'll probably closely follow whatever Legendary's Godzilla turns out to be. I'd hazard a guess we'd get something like the game for PJ's King Kong, with most of the game being humans surviving/escaping, and a few levels where you get to smash shit up as Godzilla, ending with a boss fight against LP Godzilla's main villain monster.

Doesn't hurt to have a little fun dreamcasting for a game that will probably never happen.

i wouldnt mind a game were you did play as the humans, such as G force so you could stop the actual monsters from destroying areas e.g. ebirah destroying a oil rig i think it would be quite fun.

Why not? Doesn't seem impossible at all to me. I'd say it's unlikely - but only because I think people would want some other features more. But if we make our funding, and people say "I'm happy to always fight in the boxing ring, with no military, buildings, or custom match options" - then we can put 95% of the money toward just making monsters, and the number might end up being very high.

I'm a patient man. An initial release of 8-12 monsters followed by DLC packs featuring 4-6 monsters a pop sounds good to me.
