Godzilla: Domination (GBA)

Great game IMHO but suffers from a lame boss and a laughably small cast. Although from what I've heard, two monsters were cut for budget, but I've heard different reports of who (Anguirus, Gigan and/or Hedorah) and also allegedly Biollante was the original final boss.

It's been pointed out to me the game's a clone of King of the Monsters 2, which I have yet to play.

its a very good game... i love it... its the only GBA game i still own since i got my DSi...

and as for the clone of KotM2... its not a clone per say... its just VERY similar... like it was inspired by it...

I really like the game, my only complaint is the small roster.

^ All of the monsters' colors are fairly off. KG and Rodan are orange-y, MechaGodzilla is blue-ish.

I think it's just so they stand out better, and to keep with the game's chibi-esque style.

Pretty fun game, gets old pretty quicky. I believe Gigan, and Anguirus where plan as well since I remember reading about it before years ago.

I love this game! I still do surprising, and it never gets old for me. Kinda wished the roster was bigger, and the Mecha-KG was a tough boss at the beginning for me lol.

But I loved the ending of each monster, and each monster had some pretty damn good depth that matched their character.

1. Godzilla have Atomic Ray and Regeneration and that weird High Dive Spinning Bomb thing
2. King Ghidorah, gravity beams, and megantic force pull/control.
3. Mothra, wing lightning bolts, weird explosive larva. O.o...Poison Powder and Webbing.

etc

While it lacks true replayability, I still play the campaign when I'm bored on long carrides. Its a ton of fun.

I thought MKG was hard as hell when I first played the game. It took me forever as MechaGodzilla to beat him.

I heard Biollante was planned to be the original boss, but was ultimately exchanged for MKG, explaining why he's so big.

Is this true? Also, my favorite character is either mechagodzilla or king ghidorah.

I could see that being true due to the size alone of MKG, just a simple re skin here and a sound clip there.

I guess they just couldnt explain why Biollante was on a Meteor so they scarpped her.

Story is never what decides what characters make it and who doesn't.

Must have been other reason for Biollante getting scraped, I personally like the game's artwork a lot.

I liked the game alot. I noticed though that the multiplayer was screwy though
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

It's a decent game, I guess. It can kill a few hours if you're bored. Megalon in this game looked like his Trendmasters design to me. And is there anything you can even unlock in this game?

I love this game. I really liked the look of the sprites, how they were vaguely chibi-like, but they didn't look stupid and were easily recognizable (despite the screwy color jobs). It's a really fun way to kill some time, but unfortunately, it's just too small in scope. The Story Mode is too short and the roster is laughably small. I know there's budget and time constraints, but sheesh. It would've been great if the character list looked something like this:

Good guys: Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Anguirus, Jet Jaguar, King Caesar
Bad guys: King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Megalon, Gigan, Hedorah, Battra
Bosses: Mecha-King Ghidorah, Biollante, Millennian, aggregate Destoroyah, Godzilla Tower (it could be an alien base on one of the meteors or something)
"What kind of science do you call this?!"

I have a question regarding king ghidorah, when he uses his magnetic pull attack on Mothra , mothra is rarely hurt by the attack and instead usually hovers nears him and rarely gets damaged. Did anybody else notice this?

I hear the Japanese version is a better game. The Japanese version got GMK Mothra, GXMG Godzilla, and Kiryu since GMK and GXMG where not out in the US at the time.

^ I don't see how that makes the game "better" though. The gameplay was exactly the same.

I enjoyed this game, since I was a big fan of the KING OF THE MONSTERS series growing up. It was great to see a licensed Godzilla game use the same formula. It just really, really needed a more fleshed out roster, and a little more depth, otherwise, it was a nice homage to the KOTM game series, and fun for what it was. I personally think it has almost next to no replay value though.
