Godzilla:Save the Earth (Xbox version). Larger roster+ more stages, with a few personal favorites (Jet, Baragon), (had) online play, and more refined combo/juggle system. This all led to a very satisfying multiplayer experience. The mini games, and single player sucked (and the frame rate is awful on the PS2 version) but everything else, I felt, was better than DAM:M. I see why people enjoy that game, but IMO it's just...lacking. A great frame rate and 3 second long "replays" aren't enough to keep me coming back.

I love Super Godzilla as well, for nostalgic purposes. Godzilla Monster of Monsters on the NES is another favorite, and even more nostalgic. I wish I had a chance to play Godzilla:Kaiju Kessen (Super Famicom) in my youth, but I unfortunately didn't get a copy until a few years ago. Great game though!

I also think I'm one of the few people that actually enjoyed Godzilla:Unleashed (Wii), if not just for the addition of Biollante and Varan as playable characters. The lack of online play is what really killed it in the long run. Also, no online play=next to no replayability. The lack of Hedorah was also very disappointing to me personally (when the game was announced, I was sure he'd make the cut. He was the only major Godzilla villain missing from the final roster of G:U. :?

GU was not that bad of a game expect for the gameplay was no different from the past two games, and I hate how that you can't use the gamecube controler for the game since the game is not that much fun after you unlock everything.

The gameplay was somewhat different. They made the beam locking make a lot more sense, and also added grab/throw tech's, as well as the ability to parry. This allowed for slightly more balanced, competitive play. For instance, characters that have moves/attacks that are un-parryable, are stronger because they are harder to defend against. Varan's A+B+swing left is one the most broken moves in the game partially because it can't be parried.

I do wish that the game supported the classic controller as well, but the problem in that lies then mapping out various actions to the controller (since it was made from the ground up with the wiimote+nunchuk controller in mind), which would have meant even more development time. It's too bad we didn't see a 360/PS3 port with a traditional control scheme.

The system was too different actually.

Unleashed is up and close all the time, the other games were more about juggle and staying on your feet.

To be quite honest, Monster of Monsters is actully one of my favourites. I'm playing it on NESten emulator at the moment. It's just a fun game to play, and I know how much people like going back in time with video games :D

I would have to say Save the Earth, or DAMM.

DAMM is the most polished Godzilla game out there, but I think I had more fun with Save The Earth. I'll go with that.

Unfortunatly G:DAMM is the only godzilla game i've played and according to reviews is the best godzilla game around. I know alot of godzilla games are fairly shallow button mashers, but there's one other monster game called "War of the Monsters" which i heard was pretty good. Anyone tried it?

Godzilla:DAMM may have garnered the "best" reviews, but it's seriously the most lacking of them all. It has almost no content, and the playable cast is small, and less than stellar. The sequels were still decent, and they had more characters, more refined combat system, and more gameplay options (STE had online play for a good 6 years), but they appealed more to Godzilla fans, then say, your typical casual gamer, which is what the original game succeeded in doing.

This would explain the more mediocre reviews for the sequels. G:U on the Wii was simply ridden with funky glitches, and an overall unpolished feel. The lack of online play is what really killed it in the long run, but it is a good (Godzilla) game otherwise. It's just hampered from a control scheme with a huge learning curve; the glitches don't really get in the way of the gameplay unless they're of the system freezing, variety.

I don't necessarily agree your point my friend Goji, STE felt rushed even on the fighting system and I'll never like the Weakness/Strength system, it has no place in a fighting game.

DAMM was Damn small but if anything it felt like "This is good, The Sequel better be good", DAMM at least on the Xbox, is good enough for me. STE didn't deliver. I like its sound effects better, the announcer is awesome, the attempt to get rid of clones, the bigger roster, I even like the soundtrack, but yeah, overall it's not as fun to me as DAMM.

DAMM Xbox is probably funny, I've been meaning to pick it up. But I have to be frank, DAMM GameCube sucks serious ass.

I tried to find the Xbox port of DAM:M for months, and was never able to. Now Gamestop stopped carrying Xb(1) games, so I doubt I'll ever get it now. (No way I'm going to ebay that game, shipping and all; no thanks). I did always want to see how Kiryu was different in that game, compared to STE. That's my biggest curiosity.

NO CPU opponents outside Adventure, Survival and Versus modes. You need a second controller for every other mode. Really hurts the re playability, and Godzilla's pretty much the only game I own I can't get a second player for. Playing Adventure or Survival aren't fun without a memory card to keep scores or unlockables. All of the Melee modes are complete inaccessible unless a second controller is inserted. And singleplayer Destruction's only in the Xbox version.

I suppose I misspoke a bit, meant more so DAMM GameCube sucks serious ass in comparison to DAMM Xbox and the sequel games, not as much in general.

Don't remind me. I still have PS1 games I want :/

Well that's one point, and I completely give you that, no CPUs outside of Arcade is lame, but I don't think that makes the game suck that much below Xbox DAMM.

He's a clone of MG2. The only difference is his rage is the AZC, but it only blasts kaiju back, not freeze them.
