Godzilla: Unleashed has a better roster, better graphics, and a better story, but that's about it...

I did enjoy the game, but Destroy all Monsters: Melee and Save the Earth are much better. More fun, IMO.

I actually adore it

I never understood the criticism.

It's not perfect, but it's hella fun

Most of the criticism is directed towards the control system.(Wii version)

I actually really like the control system.
I found no flaws with it, at all.

Well compared to DAMM and STE...

Let's just say that most found them to be confusing.

Didn't love it, liked it though. I though the improved roster and story line made up for the bad controls.
I might still be playing it instead of save the earth if my wii didn't spontaneously stop working. Incidentally, my PS2, PS1, DS, GBA, N64, SNES, Virtual Boy, 3 NESs, 2 Gameboys (one of which was in a fire), Genesis, Game Gear, Atari 800, Atari 2600, and all my vintage handheld electronic games all still work fine. Needless to say, I'm less than satisfied with the wii.

I loved it. I have both the PS2 and the Wii versions it's a lot of fun but really hard at the same time. I own the other two games Atari had made as well and they were also really fun. So yeah I love the game and enjoyed playing all of the Kajiu who appeared in it. :g2k:

My copy was glitched.

Couldn't Complete Training Mode with Megaguirus.

Mothra blew the game up sometimes.

CPU Monsters ended up backing away indefinitely without attacking the entire match.

Hit's were incredibly weak looking unless you hit the back of the beast, or their power was about to disappear. I know this was atleast intentional, but I didn't agree with this implementation.

Biollante can Murder everyone in the game with ease.

A lot of attacks need massive reworking. King Ceasar, MechaGodzilla '74, Baragon etc.

Monster Designs shouldn't have been tampered with, when I say monster designs I mean MechaGodzilla '74.

It coming out on the Wii was a fail.

agreed, it was another victim of "look what the wii can do" mentality. And the lack of support for gamecube or classic controller was a serious mistake. 'Cause who doesn't want to flail around like an idiot while trying to play a video game?

If you liked the Wii you probably liked the game. Is you didn't like the Wii, you didn't like the game. The controls take awhile to get used to but after that its fun all the way. BTW I still think the Wii and Wii U have the best hardware anywhere. There is something for all ages and game background. Here's a link to the best Godzilla game thus far: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=7282

Am I the only one who absolutely adores this game?

I never had any problems with the controls and can do all the moves easily.

Yeah, the game has flaws, but the pros out weighs the bad.

One thing I really don't like about it is.... things are already wrecked. When I play a game with Godzilla in the title, I don't expect the cities I'm fighting in to already be mostly destroyed. One of the worst offenders here is Tokyo, because there's barely anything left of Tokyo. I could go on for awhile about things I don't like, like how somehow a beam isn't good enough to finish off a monster now, but then I'd be here for days.

I was hoping Atari would've made another Godzilla game between now and GU. It's been 6 years.

GStE came out 2 years after GDAMM and GU came out 3 years after GStE.

They had GU, they could've made another game with the same monster models, make some new monsters and undevastated cities, and such.

So I guess the sales and reviews of GU shot any chance of another Atari Godzilla game?

I heard that sales for GU were actually much better than the sales for GDAMM and GSTE, so my guess it was probably because the rights to the Toho license expired.

Really?! I remember reading the GU's sales weren't that good.

Atari lost the rights years ago. There will be no more Godzilla from them unless they renew the license, but it's apparently already been picked up by somebody else anyway.

I'm also pretty sure DAM:M was the best selling one in the series.

I'll verify that Atari & Pipeworks made significantly more profit off G:U than from either of the previous games.

Why wasn't a fourth game made? I might humbly suggest that my departure from Pipeworks made the notion at least a little less appealing... though it would be more complete to say that the reasons I left were also probably reasons that the studio started going in new directions.
