Favorite Secondary Powers/Abilities

Hey guys just wondering what are some of you're favorite secondary powers. Sure the signature abilities are awesome but a lot of fights would have ended a lot sooner then they have were it not for a backup power to get one out of a tough spot.

My personal favorites:

1. Hyper-Barrier: You hear the best defense is offense. I say the best offense is a counter attack and that's what this baby does. When Zone Fighter uses this special ability it will not only block a projectile but also send it flying right back at the one who shot it. "Turn! One Hundred-Eighty Degrees." :P

2. Light Barrier: Grand King Ghidorah introduced new powers that none of the other incarnations the hydra has (so far) like his acid dome and lighting wings but I honestly like his Light Barrier the best. Sure it's not prefect like Spacegodzilla's, some energy attacks are blocked completely while others are only partially blocked thus only hampering the damage and making it less damaging to GKG then normal and it's less effective up close since it needs time to capture light from the attack and use it to form the barrier but unlike Spacegodzilla's it doesn't use it's owner's energy, and doesn't need to be activated by it owner. It's on all the time. Fair trade.

3. Magnet Pull: Easily the most ridiculous thing 70's Godzilla has pulled off. I love it.

4. Atomic Flight: Another one of the more insane things 70's Godzilla has pulled off. Everyone thinks it's amazing he could make enough "push" to even lift off the ground, and it is, but what I find really cool about this power is how fast he is flying. Even if Hedorah wasn't flying at his max speed he was still moving pretty fast and Godzilla caught up to him in no time. Being body slammed by a fast flying Godzilla does not sound fun. This move could be useful for so many reasons, he can swiftly escape, anyone behind him if gonna be hit by his breath and any fool in the front will be hit by a hammer.

5. Pulse: A useful power both Heisei Godzilla and Desghidorah have pulled off. Nothing I need to say here, it pushes away enemies if they are being overwhelmed as well as safely removing built up energy should someone be foolish enough to keep choke them when they are trying to disperse a breath weapon.

6. Machine Hand and Capture Cables: Mecha-King Ghidorah's most useful attack, it was made just for Godzilla but the best part is most monsters have a vaguely humanoid shape like Godzilla so it can be used on a lot of other monsters.

7. Drill Hand: A pretty awesome weapon and a great way to make Kiryu more effective in close range combat.

8. Scales: One of Mothra's greatest powers I love how it sends energy attacks right back at the enemy forcing them to either move out of the cloud or try fighting T&C.

9. Telekinesis: Pretty useful ability, it pretty much allows Spacegodzilla to do what ever he wants, change his beams direction, allow him to fly or throw his enemy.

10: Chest Beam: Showa Mechagodzilla's Eye Laser and Finger Missiles are pretty awesome but damn, this thing cut a mountain in half.

I could go on but they are just way too many to list all of them and my list is constantly changing.

I gotta go with pulse being my fav from Godzilla. when I first saw Godzilla use it against Biollante my jaw just hit the floor.

Mechagodzilla's missles. Even though its kinda silly, its stilll awesome to see the hands rotate before they launch a salvo of missles.

Mechagodzilla Heisei's cheap anti-beam weapon armor. Gives him an excuse to lolnope most if not all energy weapons.

Kiryu's Drill hand

Everything Mecha King Ghidorah has. Hes just that freaking awesome.

Hedorah's acid mist, or even Hedorah himself. You cant touch him without wounding yourself.

GINO's hurricane breath. I dunno why, I just like the screaming noise he makes followed by everything suddently bursting into flames.

Gamera's Mana beam (Does this count?)

I like the magnetic pull myself.

Kiryu's drill hand and Mothra's scales also score high on this list.

I'm not sure which of Hedorah's abilities would be considered 'secondary', so I'll just say I like all of them.

Orga's telepathic (or whatever it was) control of his ship also deserves to be mentioned. Using it to help wear Godzilla down was a fairly unique strategy, and made for some cool scenes.

Anguirus' backwards carapace tackle. It totally comes out of nowhere in "Gigan", and it's nice to see him get some payback, because up to that point he pretty much gets beaten on by Ghidorah and Gigan.

I really liked when Godzilla reversed the charges of Mechagodzilla's shock anchors in the Heisei movie, or when Godzilla sent a sort of mini-pulse down Keizer Ghidorah's heads/necks. The idea that Godzilla has so much energy roaring through him that tapping into it can backlash like that is just awesome.

Hard to specify, there are so many greats...


Love Baragon's leaping ability, and Megalon's burrowing drills are pretty awesome.....Also really dig the notion of Anguirus being able to roll into a ball like an armadillo. (Can you imagine, a SPIKED 'ball' the size of a football stadium rolling at TOP speeds?? DAMN!)

You mean the energy touch? Yeah Spacegodzilla and Battra Larval have it as well.

Not so much, just that energy backlash/reversal. I don't like the energy touch for Godzilla, it's better suited for a fancy fighter like SpaceGodzilla.

Well, I'm pretty sure it's not a Nuclear Pulse being sent through MG's wires. ;)

Does knowing how to weaponize objects from the environment count? I've always liked how the Showa monsters would throw boulders at each other, or scenes like Kong jamming the tree down Godzilla's throat. That's something you don't see as much of in the more recent movies, unfortunately. Battra clocking Godzilla with the ferris wheel was a memorable exception, though.

I'm fine with simple antenna beams but when it becomes crazy Mothra Leo stuff that's where I draw the line.
