1. Godzilla tossing rocks and smacking an unconscious Kong with his tail.
2. Hedorah cackling (gurgling?) as he dumps his sludge into the pit Godzilla's in.
3. Ultraman taunting Jirass with his frill that he ripped off.

1) Ultraman riding a blinded Dodongo's back and slapping his ass.
2) Ace stabbing Barabas in the heart with his own sword, making his eyes pop out and then decapitating him with his own arm.
3) Doragory tearing Muruchi's lower jaw (and the skin down his neck and chest) clear off his body and dismembering him.

Ya' know, I think there's a fine line between being a dick and pure sadism that a lot of people are just hopping over here. I don't think I could rip another person's arms off and slap them around with it while dismembering them with my free hand and only be labeled an asshole.

I dunno. I'm thinking there's a difference between just beating up your opponents in a fair fight and then just being a ruthless asshole like the examples on this page. But that's just my take on it.

I'm with Hayes on this. Think about it in real life terms...if some guy started tearing body parts off of people, it's pretty safe to say that being a dick is an insufficient descriptor.

1. Hedorah mostly killing everyone within its path during its reign, except for a kitten. That's just a dick move that needs no explanation xD.

Nope. Sparing the kitten while killing thousands of humans convices me that Hedorah ISN'T a total dick.

Now that may have been the biggest dick move in tokusatsu history. The first time I saw that as a kid, my jaw dropped. The Ultra shows have a lot of pretty brutal monster deaths (including the Jirass frill-rip), but the Muruchi death was like something out of Dawn of the Dead.

You can get the whole original series of Ultraman in Japanese with subtitles on DVD for dirt cheap. The DVDs don't have too many special features, but there is a monster encyclopedia in the last disc.

Yeah, if there were ever a moment that signified that the Chouju were stronger than the monsters that came before them, I think that was it.

... And then Astromons comes along in and eats a Chouju in the very first episode of Taro...

I...kinda just think the violence in Ace just kinda, sort means Ultraman Ace is just a more violent show. I doubt it was making a statement about how much stronger these superbeasts were.

I think I can safely say that Ghidorah did not have a quick death, and that he had a tougher beat down then the Gomora within that video
And yes, although Ghidorah is a major dick, he was once again being controlled within DAM.....Shameful.

In all honesty, that fight was more of a Ghidorah beatdown than anything else. As soon as he landed, he was toast.

King Ghidorah was holding his own pretty well, I thought. It wasn't until that he was physically knocked to the ground that he was finished for good, but he was keeping them at bay and the option of retreat was always there. Until Godzilla started stomping all over his necks.

But he didn't really take any of the kaiju down for good (Anguiras was dropped from the sky, but he walked off, if I remember correctly). His beams were more of a "Stay Away From Me" move. They inflicted very little damage, hitting Gorosaurus and Godzilla once apiece (again, my memory is a little hazy).

You're right. Ghidorah's beams weren't used to full effect in the battle, and he did try to retreat, but Godzilla stopped him.
