I would go with GMK, Biollante, or Godzilla vs. Mothra.

Mothra vs. Godzilla, cuz it's a great movie and chicks seem to dig Mothra.

I laughed when I first read this, them stopped to think about it, and your right! Chicks do seem to like Mothra (Although I admit I don't know many who watch Godzilla). I think it's the fairies that does it.

Final Wars. It's fun, accessible, crazy, campy, modern-looking, has strong ties to current(ish) pop culture (Star Wars, The Matrix, X-Men) and even has a bit of a heart (the Minya subplot). Final Wars is the Godzilla movie for non-fans.

I agree that Mothra vs. Godzilla would be a good starting point. It's not too dark, not too campy; it's overall probably the best G film.

Son of Godzilla might also be a good choice, if she likes a sweeter, more lighthearted film. I might also suggest Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla for a fun action flick.

...I've never seen any one root for Godzilla in The Return Of Godzilla. Also, that would fall into the same category as Godzilla: Dark and kinda depressing. Not something that you want to show your girlfriend as the first example of Godzilla.

What about Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla '74? It's one of the best Godzilla films of the 70's and the tone of the movie is not too dark or campy.
