Continuing off of the new trend of threads, I thought, 'Why not?'. So the question stands. What is your favorite battle(s) of the whole Godzilla series?

Comeon, folks. Can we have some reasons as to why?

The final battle of King Kong vs. Godzilla is one of the best shot giant monster throwdowns of cinema. Period. One of the things I love about it is that they're always shot to look huge and the cinematography is never compromised to make the fight "cooler" (they still didn't modify the frame rate either, which is impressive), which is one of my problems with fights later in the franchise in general. The battle is so epic because it still feels like they are giant monsters in a human world. So much personality is shown from both combatants too without being anthropomorphic or overly animalistic. Just a great fight in every regard.

Some honorable mentions are the final battle in Ghidrah. Godzilla vs. the Kamacuras in Son of Godzilla, final battle of Destroy all Monsters, all the sequences in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla '74.

Final battle in KKvG. Tons of tooth-n-claw action and a nice length. What else can I say?

Final battle in GvH. Hedorah is so unpredictable (well, the first time you watch it) that this odd battle left me wondering -as a child- what Hedorah would do next to fight Godzilla and how Godzilla would counter it.

Final battles in GvMG and ToMG for their balance of beams and tooth-n-claw. Nice length and don't play it by the book. Very enjoyable even though I've seen both movies countless times.

Final battle in GvB. Another nice balance between beams and physical clawing at each other. My criticism is that it's too short.

Final battle in GMK. It's long and vicious.

Final battle in Tokyo SOS. Again, it's long, somewhat vicious, and well coordinated with nice visuals and effects (for what it is).

I'll second the love for the final battle in King Kong vs. Godzilla. You really get the impression that these two hate each others' skreeonk' guts, tearing through a castle just to get at each others' throats. Awesome

And I'm willing to bet not many will share this point of view, but I love Final Wars' bite-size mini-smackdowns. Short, sweet and batshit crazy, these fights are a blast and totally make the movie. They establish Godzilla as the ULTIMATE bad-ass and find fresh, unique ways for him to obliterate his opponents. The final battle almost feels plodding and dragged out in comparison, but it really just goes to show that Gigan and Monster X/Ghidorah are the REAL threats of this alien invasion.

I tend to like the Showa Ghidorah fights.

Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra vs. Ghidorah in Ghidorah. The reluctant heroes have lots of personality and it's nice to see them working together.

Godzilla and Rodan vs. Ghidorah/Monster-Zero on Planet X in Astro-Monster. It's short but sweet and Godzilla dances at the the end!

The Earth monsters vs. Ghidorah in DAM. It's just epic, although the idea that Godzilla and co were being controlled takes the badass out of their behavior.

Godzilla and King Cesar vs Mechagodzilla

I like the balance of melee combat with the spectacle of beams and missiles. KC makes a tough fighter by himself, but Godzilla really takes the fight with his magnetic pull. This is the most unexpected tactic scene by Godzilla, and makes a memorable scene.

DAM has an excellent final battle, but I'd choose the Mt, Fuji fight from GFW for my second choice. It's a fast and physical brawl. Plus, where else are you going to see Anguirus as a soccer ball.

A little too slow on the trigger finger there, chum.

Mine is Godzilla and Anguiras vs Gigan and Ghidorah. It's long, but integrates enough human interaction in between to keep you interested in knowing what the monsters are doing. Sure Ghidorah's all stock, but get around that and it's pretty awesome. I love the buzz saw to the face that Anguiras recieved. It was so satisfying.

A little irrelevant, but why did Rodan all of a sudden stop becoming Godzilla's right hand kaiju after Monster X?

The best to me was and still is the final fight between Godzilla and Kumonga from SoG. They did such a good job on Kumonga.

That's a tough one, and to be honest I just can't pick one.

I'd say that the final epic battle in Godzilla vs Space Godzilla definitely will be up there for me, and it's all down to a single moment when all those little crystaline structures begin taking off; such an epically shot scene in an otherwise average entry in the Heisei series.

I'd say the various battles between Godzilla and Hedorah hold a high regard just for the sheer brutality; I have never really seen Big G pushed that far before, and while Gigan split him open, it was the Smog Monster that really came so close to destroying Godzilla, and took way more then he even dished out!!

Godzilla vs. Anguirus is probably a very good battle. The fight scenes were very well done and i didn't even know they where filmed on accident until i heard the commentary for the film.

I also like Godzilla vs Biollante and Godzilla vs MechGodzilla battles.

After watching Terror of Mechagodzilla again, I gotta say that the final battle between G, Titanosaurus, and MG ranks along with the final battle in DESTROY ALL MONSTERS as my favorite.

The Terror one had everything I liked in the Showa era style of battling, punches, wrestling, along with a great theme to compliment it. Plus, Titanosaurus is a blast to watch fight.

DESTROY ALL MONSTERS has a bunch of monsters battling King Ghidorah with the classic Ifukube theme, 'nuff said.

The Terror one had everything I liked in the Showa era style of battling, punches, wrestling, along with a great theme to compliment it. Plus, Titanosaurus is a blast to watch fight.

A couple of my favorite moments are when Godzilla bodytackles Titano and throws him into a building, and the other is when G is charging at MG, he knocks Titano right out of his way
