Most Overrated and Underrated 2.0

It makes me optimistic that the fandom, in general, is maturing. The summary for negative views for SoG is basically "It sucks because Minya". Anything with Mothra was usually rated unfairly, if it wasn't because of Mothra herself, it was because of the Fairies.

I don't remember any of the opinions on Hedorah, but I wouldn't be surprised if the general consensus was "It sucks because he flies! THERE'S A KID!"

Alright, well since my overrated post received a bit of criticism, I'll add a new one.

''Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II'': Not god-awful, but just very "meh". It just didn't seem to offer anything new for me, and I never cared for Mechagodzilla being a good guy. (Also, Baby Godzilla ain't got nothing on Minilla!)

Well don't just change your mind because of criticism. That aside, Spacegodzilla is pretty panned by the fandom and surely not liked by the real world, so I do agree with those saying that.

overrated- The original godzilla, KIDDING, REAL overrated- Godzilla 2000, dont get me wrong, I love this movie, but they are making him the main monster in the video games, and it seems like people go to crazy for it.

Underrated- I have 2 underrateds, 1 is Godzilla's revenge/ all monsters attack, I know its a kids movie, but to me that makes it fun to make fun of and even in the audio commentary the guy talks about how bad it was, but I liked it! 2. Godzilla Final Wars, everybody hates this, I loved it, it had tons of action!

Most Overrated - GMK & The Heisei Series Are Equally Overrated
GMK...The most overrated individual movie for multiple reasons. Not one of my favorites either. It's just okay in my eyes.

Heisei series...Most of the movies are good and on par with GMK some even better than just the okayness of GMK actually. But one thing that makes me not like this series as much as almost any of the movies from the Showa or Millenium era is Heisei Godzilla himself. While this version of Godzilla I like for how powerful he is, how big he is his battles are always rather boring for the most part (Biollante and King Ghidorah being the exceptions) they are rather boring due to the fact that he always spams his Atomic Ray (why does he always aim for the ground first???). While I love the Heisei series it is still more dull compared to both the Showa and Millenium. I do enjoy the Heisei series though don't think otherwise. I like some more than a lot of the Showa films. I especially like Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah that is one of my favorite Big G films.

Other Big G Films that are very OVERRATED in my eyes: Mothra vs. Godzilla (a tad bit), King Kong vs. Godzilla & Godzilla vs. Biollante (somewhat)

Most Underrated - Godzilla 2000
Has been my favorite Godzilla film for a long time. I know others may not like it nearly as much as I do but hey...anyways there are so many things I love about this film let me run some of the things down that I love about it: Good characters that you actually somewhat care about as compared to just about every other Godzilla movie, the english version has a great score, I love the whole Regenerator G1 where we find out that Gozilla (this version anyway) is virtually immortal due to all of his cells still being intact when normally they'd die naturally, Godzilla's suit is great and my favorite, the final battle is pretty good and has a cool climax, Godzilla's Atomic Ray looks great. I may have forgotten some things too.

Other Big G Films that are very UNDERRATED in my eyes: Godzilla vs. Megaguirus & Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah

Underrated: Godzilla Final Wars, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2, Godzilla and Mothra: Battle for Earth, Godzilla 2000.

I think Godzilla Final Wars is a great films, very artsy and styled, humans also do more than just talk. And Godzilla vs. Mothra has some cool battles and the Cosmos are kinda hot and I liked the music and effects when Godzilla fights the laser attack in the mountain.

But I do admit that you've done a good job picking-out the best parts of Godzilla and Mothra, but I'll add one more: the Battra design is awesome.

As a Showa fan I love SOS because of all the little *wink, wink, nudge nudge* moments referencing the Showa era in the movie.

Okay, while I can say that Godzilla vs. Mothra was (IMO) slightly better than most people I've seen make it out to be, I cannot agree with Final Wars:


It was not artsy(skreeonk that word), it was what can happen when a Japanese studio takes their biggest star and tries to churn out what vaguely looks like some sort of American Blockbuster.

It was not styled, it was pandering. To all the wrong people. It's Godzilla's 50th birthday, fans expect something respectful to the franchise. That was just what happens when you let people not mentally equiped for a Godzilla movie do a Godzilla movie.

Finally, ripping off the moves from The Matrix is not people doing anything other than ripping off the moves from The Matrix.

He used a ferris wheel as a weapon, something we haven't seen since the Showa days with boulders. Bad movie, cool monster. Though the underwater fight with Larval Battra and the volcano scene are pretty cool.
