If only it were a border state, I'd go in a heartbeat. Sadly, the car I own is eight years old and could break down after a long drive. :(

If your going to let the movies that are being shown and how they're being shown at G-Fest ruin it for you I strongly suggest you don't go or stop being so damn petty. G-Fest is always a good time you just have to find what you want to do.

Exactly. As long as I see my favorite monsters on the big bring screen via dvd or original print, i'm still going to be happy. How much do they usually charge for the films in the theater?

It's 2 dollars per ticket as far as I can recall.

Uh, no. It's like $8, if not more. It is a real theater after all.

I'll gladly eat crow if it doesn't turn out that way....but at this point it feels painfully obvious, as it has for months.

Really? $8 seems a little steep for dvd projections, i mean i understand for a brand new release of a movie, but I would choose the $2 over the 8, for obvious reasons.

I don't know where the $2 even came from. Movie screenings have always been at the Pickwick theater, and it's always been around that price. Sometimes it's only $10 for a double feature, which isn't too bad....but most of the time it's just two DVD's being projected soo..yeah, it's still not really worth it in the end. :?

I probably wouldn't bother with the showings unless I haven't seen a certain Godzilla movie. But I've seen all of them.

They will occasionally play film prints, but last year they literally played none. When they screened GOJIRA, it started off as the subtitled Rialto print from 2004...then one of reels broke, and they switched it to the DVD. You could definitely tell the difference.

In 2008, they played prints of DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, MATANGO, GODZILLA VS. GIGAN and GODZILLA X MECHAGODZILLA, which all looked fantastic. Then in 2009, they only print they played was GMK. Then last year...nothing except for the first 20 minutes of GOJIRA.

Last year, they played SON OF GODZILA, EBIRAH, GODZILLA 2000, and GODZILLA X MEGAGUIRUS all in English, via DVD projections. Believe me, it was painful, and looked like ass.

Well, I'll take DVD projections over never ever getting to see a Godzilla movie in theaters. Ever.

I think I say this every year, but I think I'm actually going to be able to go to this thing this year. Not making it the same weekend as 4th of July and my sister's birthday is a big plus.
