What Are Your Favorite Incarnations/Designs For Toho’s Big 5?

I don’t think a thread like this has ever been made, and i’m really curious what people’s thoughts are after the Big 5 have been recreated by Legendary.

My favorites would be...

Godzilla: Monsterverse/Shin
Mothra: Monsterverse
Ghidorah: Monsterverse
Rodan: MonsterVerse
Mechagodzilla: Kiryu/Monsterverse

TBH this varies for each and every one of them

Godzilla: if i had to pick one, i guess the Kiryu Saga one? It has one of my favorite designs and a good personality, but i honestly don't have a favorite Godzilla incarnation
Mothra: Millennium.. again.
Rodan: Don't really have a favorite for him either. Just know it's not the Heisei version lol
Ghidorah: Grand King Ghidorah. I will admit the MV version is slightly better when it comes to personality, but design wise? Nah. Plus GKG's batshit powers are just plain cool
Mechagodzilla: Kiryu and Showa are tied. Kiryu has the better design and the best personality, but i will never deny Showa's batshit scale of brutality and powers. Legendary's is pretty cool too tho

Godzilla: Heisei

Ghidorah: Tough one. Heisei, Anime, or Monsterverse
Rodan: Heisei
Mechagodzilla: Monsterverse.

Godzilla - The Heisei Godzilla has a great head.

Rodan- The original is the best.

Mothra- Mothra Leo looks good.

King Ghidorah- Grand King Ghidorah has the most threatening appearance of all the incarnations.

MG- Showa MG is my favorite.

Basing incarnation on what I think gets closest to the core of my preferred version of the character....

- 2001 for design, 1999 for incarnation, though Monsterverse is gunning for that crown lately.
- Monsterverse for both design and incarnation. I have some favorites in the other incarnations (love cosmic horror of 2018, 2001's unique spin, 1991 is nostalgic) but for what I want out of a Ghidorah, this wins.
- all of them. This isn't a joke, I adore all of them. Buuuuuut gun to my head......2003/2004?
- Legendary and Showa are in an eternal dogfight
- MG 74 is the best incarnation (Again, Monsterverse is gunning for that for it's blending of all the types) and Kiryu is best designed.

And for some fun,

- 1955 for design, 1972 for incarnation. (SP is looking pretty neat though...)
Moguera - both designs are basically their own thing so it's stupid to compare them.
Kong - 2017-2021 for both.
Manda - 2004 for design, no real incarnation preference, they're all the same snake.
2001 for both (I love little nippy dog Baragon but plucky tiny guardian monster singlehandedly taking on the world by himself is such a wonderful concept)
Ebriah- 2004 for design, 1966 for Incarnation
Kamacuras- Same as Ebirah
Kumonga- Showa all the way baby.
Junior/Minilla- Minilla for incarnation, Baby Godzilla for design (though I will die on the hill Minilla is a good design and Kamata Kun gets honorable mention)
Gabara- Gotta see SP to determine
- Same as Kumonga.
- Showa for both, but specifically only the Showa design as it's drawn in Rulers of Earth. Anywhere else, I don't care.

Godzilla, Mothra, Ghidorah, and Rodan in their Monsterverse versions have basically become my go-to when I imagine them. For MechaGodzilla, I’d have to say Kiryu still reigns as my fave though.
