Maybe related, but I’m annoyed that the Monsterverse kinda nerfed the US’s involvement in the awakening/ creation of Godzilla and how they explain the nucleur tests during the US’s dick measuring contest with the USSR were simply attempts to kill Godzilla.

This, above any character or structural issues, is my biggest problem with '14.

In G14's defense it wasn't made with the 60th Anniversary in mind.

2014 wasn't a 60th anniversary movie. Sure, it came out on that time but that was probably more by chance than anything else
