It actually surprised me where some of these fell. If Mothra had been just 2 years earlier, it would've aced the 50s; or if Godzilla 2000 had been released in '99 like it originator, Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla would've made the list for the 00s. As it stands, I'm really surprised that SpaceGodzilla made it on there, because both the films that would've hands-down beaten it were 1 year too early/late to qualify for the 90s.

Isn't the year 2000 the last year of the 90s, rather than the first year of the 2000s? There was no year 0, so each decade starts with _1 and ends with _0.

Well no, because we count the 0 year as part of the decade. 2000-2009 is a decade (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) just as 1990-1999 is and so on.
