Best Aliens in the Godzilla Franchise?

Note: please watch part 2 before reading this thread.

To be honest, I think that the anime films have the best aliens in the Godzilla franchise. Sure, they’re not as cool looking as the people from Planet X, and aren’t as weird as the black hole aliens that turn into big bugs, but boy are they developed. A lot of the Godzilla franchise aliens are basic evil we wanna rule you aliens. Here in the Godzilla anime they’re developed but also complex.

The Barusaldo in part 2 are absolutely stellar. Not only are mixed morally, and side with humanity, but they fuse with MG and it’s pretty awesome when you think of it conceptually. The dynamic between them, the humans and the exit is epic.

Lemme know if you guys agree?

You mean the Nebulans? ;)

Yeah, I definitely agree with you on every point. It's nice seeing how the two races conflict with each other, and almost end up "tearing" Hauro in part. The development on Mulu was interesting, him and Bele felt threating as antagonists but they weren't really the villains per se.

I really like they are not the "evil alien invaders" from every other movie thus far. At least not in the strict sense.
This time they are getting some development and actual motivations, they're not evil, just different from humanity.
I'm interested to see what willl happen to the bilusaludos living in the space station, and what are the Exif's plans for the conclusion.

I wonder if the leader Bilusaludo (forgot his name but he had a beard) had the same views as the other Bilusaludos; like I would think they would tell their leader of Mechagodzilla City. Also, If I remember correctly did they ever show any other Exifs besides Metphies and Endurph?

Same. I wonder if even some Bilusaludos would be upset about what some of their people did on Earth, essentially betraying humans and Exif's trust, I mean they've been on the same ship for, what is to them, 20 years. No way you stay on that ship that long without befriending some of the others. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if there was some inter-species mingling, not like Toho never explored the concept with Glenn and Namikawa's romance in Monster Zero.

The Millennians are the most unique and downright alien extraterrestrials in the series by far. Nothing else comes close to them.

Too bad we don't know much about them.

I like it that way, to be honest. The mystery surrounding them adds to the intrigue.

I wish they had given them more unique designs. As is, they just look human, which I know most past Godzilla aliens look human too, but those were also live action films being made on strict budgets. This is animation and there is nothing restricting you from doing something cool.

I keep harping on it, but go back to the comic series "Rulers of Earth". Those look like aliens!

That said Metphies is probably my favorite character in the anime trilogy just because I'm not sure where his loyalties lie at the moment. To use a wrestling term, I'm waiting for that "heel turn" but he might also be completely on the up and up. Is he a Ghidorah worshipper or is he legitimate in what he says and does? We'll see.

The Bilusaludos could have been interesting as the makers of the nanometal and Mechagodzilla, and their more straight forward approach as opposed to the more spiritual and passive nature of the Exif. But without giving anything away, their motivations in part 2 seem under-defined.

Personally, I don't think these are the best aliens in the franchise. I do think we get more depth to them, only because we have two full movies FULL of exposition. So it seems like they're more complex characters, but other aliens in the franchise get wiped out at the ends of their respective films.

I find their designs to be boring, their motivations to be boring, and honestly nothing about them terribly interesting. The one thing I did enjoy was the little interaction between whatever their names are in Planet of the Monsters; the jabs that Mechagodzilla failed, and the other failed to mind-control the world.

I found the original Xilians and Mysterians far more entertaining and interesting. That's all just my personal opinion, though.
