Has anyone here pitched the idea of a direct sequel to the Showa Era...

A film that blends the factions, aliens & kaiju of the 70's Godzilla films
& possibly even borrows some plot points & elements from Latitude Zero.

Say the Japanese government/Interpol rebuild MechaGodzilla & shared
the technology with the world...and no kaiju attacks have taken place
since 75...only for an alliance of evil powers to set Megalon, Gigan,
Titanosaurus & a sample of Hedorah loose on humanity...cue Godzilla,
Anguirus & a human controlled MechaGodzilla fighting back to save
the world.

I mean a lot of franchises are doing the "Its only a sequel to the original"
now...

Jesus...the Godzilla franchise was doing that before Hollywood caught on to it.

- Zero respect to the source material
- Way more over-the-top explosions than Terror of Mechagodzilla
- Focusing on the military instead of the monsters
- Having Megan Fox in a lead role
- Designing Godzilla and any other monster in over-exaggerated designs with nothing but CGI
- Each character being unlikable and/or annoying
