I don't trust people who hate Minya.

These polls results are pretty predictable. I can agree with the Top 3, but I would go Gojira, Mothra vs. Godzilla, and then Shin.

Apparently it’s only the 6th highest grossing, being beaten by KKvG, G54, GRA, SG, and GTTHM.

The top is not that surprising and pretty much the same, but it nice to see Rodan (3) and Anguirus (6) still ranking high. Most shocking to me is Jet Jaguar (14) making a comeback in Japan, he was once one of the most hated list. Also Destroyah (17) coming in bellow Kaiser Ghidorah (15). Also 3 spots taken by Ghidorah, 3 spots taken by Mechagodzilla, 3 spots to younger proto-Godzillas.

I'm very pleased to see Rodan making 3rd place; he's still my favorite monster, and sometimes I feel like he gets overlooked in relation to the other "big four". Speaking of which, congrats to Minilla for out-ranking every single version of Mechagodzilla! Who would've seen THAT coming??
Varan, Kaiser Ghidorah, Jet Jaguar and Godzillasaurus were all surprising winners too. It's a good mix of monsters overall.

Seeing the top 5 movies poll dominated by Showa is also pleasing to me. It's no surprise that Shin is #1, either, considering it's still riding the waves of success from just last year.

I don't think the results are too, too surprising.

Mothra, Ghidorah, Mecha-G and Rodan have been in the Top 5 forever. Baby/Proto Godzilla is the only other monster character/type to appear in every major era. Gigan and Hedorah are popular vintage designs, Baragon, Anguirus and Varan are simple fan favorites and so on.

G54, Mothra and Ghidorah are top golden era films. Mothra 92 was the most successful 90s film and Shin the most successful contemporary entry. I wish they had ranked more of the films like the kaiju.

Glad to see Anguriua and Rodan rank where they did. I would love Mothra vs Godzilla with shin and replace Godzilla vs.Mothra with Return or Biollante but other than that can't disagree with the top 5 films list.
