May the road rise ahead to meet you Nakajima; the Kaiju sub-genre would never have achieved its greatness without you  :g64: :baragon: .

So sad, the last of the main factors behind the original film. But, I'm glad he got a lot of recognition and fan adoration in his later life. You can't say that about every guy from that era. RIP Godzilla, you will be missed by all.

I'm gonna turn this into an announcement post for the time being so that everyone can find this thread and pay their respects to Nakajima.

RIP Nakajima, you brought us some of the greatest movie monsters to life. Gaira, Gomess, Baragon, and most importantly, the King of the Monsters himself. I agree with everyone else that the Big 4 should've been the Big 5. Nakajima was just as important as Honda, Tanaka, Tsuburaya, and Ifukube. You'll always be remembered as one of the greatest.
I hate you eternally now Derzerb, I hope you know this.

Absolutely, Godzilla was a concept and design, Nakajima characterized him and his performance has defined Godzilla throughout the franchise.

While everyone responsible for taking Godzilla from an idea to a film has been crucial to why we all come here, Nakajima more than anyone feels like Godzilla himself has died.

On this day the Showa Era really is gone, but Haruo Nakajima, and the Era he helped create, will never be forgotten.

It really hurts to hear that Haruo Nakajima has sadly passed away. I'm glad that I got to meet Nakajima-san at Comic-con two years ago, it was honor being able to meet him & its a moment that I'll never forget. Thoughts & Prayers go to his Family & Friends. I think for tonight I'll be watching Gojira(1954).
