Wow. I remember Godzilla Zero Hour being a thing that was supposedly ‘coming’ - but i guess I just forgot about it. This really brings me back, can’t believe it was like ten years ago. I had zero knowledge of any of this drama though.

I had zero knowledge of this at all to be honest. Interesting.

I've heard a few G Fests from 1999-2002 were bad. Which one did you go to?

I went in 2007. For me, the highlights were witnessing the self-destruction of a then-hyped fan film made by a group of titanic fools, and being present for a private interview with Don Glut that was intended for a documentary that also wound up not being made.
Oh, wow, I'd forgotten all about Godzilla: Zero Hour! Has it really been nearly 11 years since that debacle?

Which podcast? I’d be interested to hear the story as well.

I still can't believe this is happening! I'm finally going to meet one of the Godzilla suit actors! :D

That's awesome news for G-Fest attendees. I've been blessed here in California to meet 3 of the other suit actors, and Mr. Satsuma is the main one left that I haven't had the privilege.

I'd forgotten almost everything about Zero Hour at this stage. Thanks for that wacky trip down memory lane, I don't know how those kids fooled JD into giving them presentation time, but all I remember was a lousy display of footage which was rightfully booed. The fellas I attended with that year I don't believe are on TK anymore.

Man I've been over at MZ reading stuff on GZH for a good part of my day. What a crazy story. Its kind of sad reading that MZ thread and seeing how many old Godzilla sites that have come and gone.

Whatever happened to Franz and GZH? it obviously never came to fruition
