Eh, I'm glad it has at least one dedicated defender. It kind of sucks from a critical standpoint, yeah, but it's great dumb fun. There are some really cool, unique action sequences, too. And an Oshima score is never a bad thing.

I just didn't find anything memorable about that slogfest. Sure you had the samurai showdown at the end with Megaguirus but that's about it......nothing to write home about.

I like Godzilla vs Megaguirus better than three out of seven Heisei films, so there’s that going for it.

Megaguirus is an enjoyable film, but when you compare it to the other Millennium films who have more substance, action or both it REALLY falls out of favor.

Although i will agree with Kaiju-King in that i'd rather watch it over Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II. Now that's a snorefest.

Megaguirus is mediocre as hell but it's got some neat ideas that are executed OK and IMO the best kaiju combat of the Millenium era.

And like, how can we call it worst film when Tokyo S.O.S is right there.

True, it's not as bad as Tokyo SOS...and SOS isn't as bad as Final Wars. The Millennium era really is the worst.

Alright my new unpopular opinion, I liked the Millennium Series. I found most of the movies to be enjoyable to watch (Mostly as popcorn flicks) and felt the fighting in it offered something better than the beam spams of the Heisei Series and the Kaiju kung fu of the later Showa films. Had some enjoyable human leads (GMK a go to example) and while not "deep" experiences I got enjoyment generally out of the bulk of them.
