Should a Godzilla/Pokemon crossover be possible?
Since Toho not only created the Godzilla films, but also distributed the Pokemon films when they were released in their native country of Japan, and of course Warner Bros distributed the Pokemon films internationally and the 2014 Gareth Edwards Godzilla reboot. I think Toho may have a chance at doing a crossover film/series, while Warner Bros handle in releasing such internationally.
Do you think this is a good idea or not?

Toho doesn't own Pokémon like you said they just distributed them. Nintendo owns the property so to make the possible crossover a agreement must be made between Nintendo and Toho.
And after that you have to jump through all the obvious and VERY numerous logic hoops to make Godzilla fit into the Pokémon Universe which are much too big undergo the trouble of working them out.
Now as for this thing I'd be chill with it.

Game Freak is already super strict about the Pokemon license. It's a miracle we have as many Pokemon characters as we do in Smash Bros. Given how much protection there is around the Pokemon franchise, I can't see the two crossing over.
I can't believe that Godzilla was the only surviving member of its species, but if we continue conducting nuclear tests, it's possible that another Godzilla might appear somewhere in the world again.

Like Mike Matei said once, "strike a deal".g2vd wrote:Toho doesn't own Pokémon like you said they just distributed them. Nintendo owns the property so to make the possible crossover a agreement must be made between Nintendo and Toho.
Don't worry about that, I was thinking more about Godzilla being transported from his universe to the "Pokeverse". Maybe he'd fit more into the Digimon universe.g2vd wrote:And after that you have to jump through all the obvious and VERY numerous logic hoops to make Godzilla fit into the Pokémon Universe which are much too big undergo the trouble of working them out.
I completely understand your crticisms.GalacticPetey wrote:Game Freak is already super strict about the Pokemon license. It's a miracle we have as many Pokemon characters as we do in Smash Bros. Given how much protection there is around the Pokemon franchise, I can't see the two crossing over.

Re: Should a Godzilla/Pokemon crossover be possible?
I don't know much about Pokemon, but I don't think the two franchises would work together. I only see it working if Nintendo comes up with a Pokemon capable of fighting Godzilla.
Digimon, however, as sonofgorgo suggest, would work much better.

In Pokemon: The Rise of Darkrai, wasn't Palkia's roar (Mecha) King Ghidorah's?GigaBowserG wrote:And Giratina was... Mothra.SonOfGorgo wrote:Oh yeah, like Reshiram's "roars" were from Megaguirus'.

I mean, he's cool and all, but I don't see three heads.
On topic though, I can't really see a Pokemon/Godzilla crossover at all. Size, for example. The smallest Godzilla we've had (assuming that's all who'd appear) was 167 ft tall, while Wailord, the largest of all Pokemon, is only 47.7 ft tall. So, yeah...

I've always wondered what that picture was all about. Is that fanmade or a planned movie that was scrapped?

That does make it difficult, unless some weird scientist experimented on one, or the characters found a lost island where giant pokemon lived. Still, it would be a hard crossover to accomplish.
Sonofgorgo: Please tell me more about your Godzilla/Gamera/ Pokemon/Digimon crossover idea.
