I was challenged to watch G vs Hedorah.

This is a weird movie, and I still think that after this viewing. The psychedelic images and suggestion of skulls is an odd mix. If I didn't know it was just a tv screen, I might be worried about what was in my water. Of course, the imagery is just part of the grim mood of the movie. We see people dying in pools of sludge, and killed by acidic fly bys. It puncuates how bad it could get if we don't clean up our act and stop polluting our world. It also demonstrates that cats can survive anything.

The monsters are great here. Hedorah is the deadliest Showa kaiju ever created. It's multiple forms are deadly to man, and the final form nearly did Godzilla in. I suppose you could get the message that it takes all of us to stop pollution in view of Hedorah's defeat. Both man and monster take part in the monster's monster's end, something that will later be repeated in films like G vs Destroyah. Godzilla has some good fight scenes here, and displays a new power-flight. I did say it was a weird movie.

Well, I was challenged to watch Rodan, and since no specific version was ordered, I chose the Americanized Rodan.

GXG has a very good point with this film, in that it does switch tempos very quickly. At the beginning it's a horror, then a mystery, then a monster flick. Yet despite all this, I still love Rodan. Always a fun watch.

Next!

I'll take a request. I have all Godzilla movies except for vs Megalon and Return of Godzilla. For non-Godzilla Toho films, I have Rodan, Mysterians, Varan, Atragon, Dogora, Mothra, Space Ameoba, King Kong Escapes, Frankenstein vs bargain, WotG, Orochi: The Eight Headed Dragon, Latitude Zero, and the first two ROM films.

I also have the Heisei Gamera movies, and GTB if they count.

I'm feeling rather indecisive, so I'm resurrecting this thread. :P Gimme a movie to watch.

I own all 28 Godzilla films (though I don't currently have the Japanese versions of KKvsG or G84), Rodan, Mothra, Varan, and the Gamera trilogy.

Ha, no prob. And I'm glad you specified "Godzilla's Revenge" rather than "All Monsters Attack", because the English version is actually much more tolerable and has a nostalgia factor. I'll watch it tonight.

^Curious, in what respect do you find the English version more tolerable? I definitely prefer the Japanese version.

But, then, I don't tolerate it, I dig it, man!
