That's actually kinda smart, everyone would be too busy either fighting the monsters or fleeing from them to even bother wasting their time or lives looking for some escaped convicts.
perhaps; tho to me it's sorta like running away from a safe transport towards an erupting volcano lol. sure you might not be right next to it but there's an excellent chance the side effects will kill you, as turned out to be the case

Aliens, be they Brainy Martians or low crotch spandex jumpsuit wearing sub-Jovians hate annoying sounds. (Mars Attacks does count, Godzilla was in it after all)

Mothra has the craziest eyesight in the universe, seriously, how can you summon her by setting a symbol into a schoolyard if she's supposed to live in Infant Island?

To answer your question, I've learned that Mothra can do anything. Mothra can beat Godzilla, transform into different modes when required, ram enemies twice her size out of the sky, and more.

1 Never ever build a robot around the skeleton of a monster.
2 when your plane explodes you don't have to worry about falling to your death because the explosion will create a portal to a other dimension wich causes you to land safely.
3 make sure you always believe someone who claims he\she is from venus.

Maybe his true skill is landing on a already dead or dying planet then taking credit for destoying it.

Before it can be filmed, drawn, acted or programed, it must be written.
