Godzilla's beam
If you could give an exact temperature on how hot his beam would be... What would it be?

As hot as the plot needs it to be.

Hotter than the sun.
... Hey, it burned through Mothra's wing. The same Mothra that withstood beams said to be as hot as the sun, and required nearby people to wear special glasses.

I would have to say what was said above, hotter than the sun, considering the concentration of the beam as one thin ray.

Re: Godzilla's beam
I don't think of the beam in terms of heat more of its destructive power.

Over 9,000,000,000,000,000 degrees.
Seasons don't fear the reaper, nor do the wind, the sun, or the rain.

Steel will soften at 1000 F, like we see in GKoTM when the electric towers bend over. Steel melts at 2500 F. It's probably between the two, but closer to 2500 F. I know movie science and real science don't always mesh, but some real science gives us a rough idea how hot it is.

Well lets look at it this way: The hottest part of the flame is the blue/white area, and Godzilla's breath is blue/white. Stars glow white hot and I beleive uranium in nuclear reactors turns white hot.

Godzilla is shooting fire. It's radioactive fire, to be precise.

Question: Can he also lower the temperature somehow, and control how destructive, and forceful he wants it to be?

Re: Godzilla's beam
Oh no no, it's a misconception that Godzilla fires a beam. It has been refered as fire in the films, documentaries, comic books, interviews, etc. Things caught in Godzilla's fire are set ablaze, melted or vaporized; the exact effect of an extremely hot fire. A beam is a projection of light, its effects are far more surgical.Living Corpse wrote:No this a misconception that has persisted for a long time. It's not fire, it's pure nuclear energy. People just say atomic fire cause it sounds cooler then saying atomic breath.Ethan wrote:Godzilla is shooting fire. It's radioactive fire, to be precise.

Yeah, I've done that before . This is not meant to be a "lets sit down at a large round table, and talk about Godzilla", this is for a bunch a fans to share their own opinions, and have a laid back discussion.Living Corpse wrote:I don't know, maybe sitting down and watching the movies instead of asking might give better results.

In regards to the Spiral Ray argument, you have a good point LC. I honestly dont have anything to counter that
Although I will say, lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun, and as you say it spirals around the ray and his spines. Maybe thats what powers it? Just spitballing.
