So despite the fact that they show clips from War of the Gargantuans, the film isn't canonical?

The results of this poll thus far are exactly what I would expect, which is a good thing. I would love to see it cross referrenced with age however just for my own curiousity.
There has never been a "Scientifically Accurate" Dinosaur portrayed on any Television Show, Movie, or Documentary. Only what the human imagination can conceive, and I'm ok with that.

Now that I think of it, I believe WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS is the only other that is canon with the Kiryu films, along with GODZILLA ('54) and MOTHRA ('61). The events of the films featuring the other monsters (Varan, Gezora, etc.), are not canon.

That's very interesting. I'm actually kind of surprised they bothered to go into such depth. They could have probably just let the comments in the film stand by themselves and few would even look into it much further.

I am 48 and I grew up watching much of the Showa series as it came out and the Millennium series is my favorite with the Showa series being a very close second.

Actually, as I recall, Godzilla X MechaGodzilla did not make any mention of Sanda, just Gaira. They also talked about how they killed Gaira with the Maser Cannons. This leads me to believe that the events of War Of The Garganutas did not happen as they did in the movie. Gaira existed, but that was about it. Without Sanda to save Gaira, the Maser Cannons killed Gaira, which is what would have happened in WotG.
