Cut Scenes
Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)

The Death of Rodan, Anguirus and King Caesar
After piling up the defeated monsters Rodan, Anguirus and King Caesar, Godzilla uses his atomic ray to finish off the trio, killing them in a bath of flames.
Background

Originally drafted and filmed, Godzilla was supposed to kill everyone of his opponents through the course of the film. In context, it does seem odd that Godzilla would spare his three foes, settling for their simple defeat instead. So, it's hardly even up for debate that this cut was most likely done in consideration of two of Toho's most recognizable characters: Rodan and Anguirus. The driving force behind the scene remaining of the editing floor isn't entirely known. However, it could be mused that producer Shogo Tomiyama, who barred the use of Anguirus in Kamoebas' role Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003), was responsible for the cut, foreseeing fan outcry over the slaughter of some of the company's more high profile characters.

Note: Another image was overlayed on this particular picture and Godzilla's hand and arm, from another shot, appear in the lower left corner.
