The Third Platoon was an entire division of soldiers who lost their lives to a war. Unable to accept their own death, the platoon returned to the land of the living and haunted their previous commander, confronting him still under the false pretenses that they were in fact still alive. Only after their commander convinced the deceased regiment of their death, and admited to the pointlessness of war and his regret for having sent them to their demise, does the commander give the troops a final salute as they wander off into the shadows of a tunnel.
