Best known for his role of Katsumoto in the US production The Last Samurai, for which he got an Academy Award nomination for, Ken Watanabe is quickly becoming of one Japan's most popular actors, and it's easy to see why. No matter the part, Watanabe always seems to have a knack for demanding attention to his roles, and always seem to give a memorable performance. In recent years, Watanabe appears to be shifting his career more to the states, as he landed roles in the 2005 US films Batman Begins and Memoirs of a Geisha.
