Biography

A veteran actor of television, Harry Shearer's popularity in recent years has stemmed from his near unparalleled voicework for The Simpsons, to which he lends his talent to Ned Flanders, Reverend Lovejoy, Dr. Hibberts, C. Montgomery Burns, Waylon Smithers, and a vast variety of others. Along with Nancy Cartwright and Hank Azaria, Shearer signed on for the American Godzilla project, his role being that of the sleezy, chauvenistic news anchor Charles Caiman. Although movies have been few and far between during the span of his long career, the volume of his experience easily outweighs his fellow Simspons/GODZILLA crossovers, which not only includes acting, but also some writing, directing, and even song-writing for a few soundtracks. In fact, his career in film harkens all the way back to an uncredited role in Abbott and Costello Go to Mars in the early '50s. The future seems bright, with the long awaited The Simpsons Movie on his plate, but another Toho-related project like GODZILLA (1998) is probably a long-shot.
